Lower on the drain side.
Glass shower door if wall not level.
I am trying to install a framed shower door.
The bottom of the glass door shows the silver trim being pulled in well tight.
This ridge has a slope to it.
The on off handle for the shower was moved to the entry area wall and the shower head is on the opposite wall.
I just re did my bath tub and turned it into a shower.
Any ideas on how i can get this door installed.
On the side of the shower opening that will support the door hold a jamb piece against the wall so that its lower end fits into the base track.
With the tub being out of level the doors do not slide properly they barely slide at all.
And there is a lot more surface area for the glue to bind to.
Both of these can be frameless.
Fixing it this way lets you install and set up the shower door so that it opens and closes like normal.
Without moving the track use a 4 foot level to adjust the jamb until it s plumb.
The new doors swing both in and out.
The tub has sort of ridge that runs along the top of the tub.
When i place the jamb on the wall i get as much as a 3 8 inch gap between jamb and wall.
I am trying to install a sliding glass shower door on a tub that the previous owners did not install level.
You dont have to have an oversized sleeve on the hinge size.
My problem is that it that the wall is out of plumb do to a poorly installed shower enclosure.
Stick a pencil through the jamb s screw holes to mark the wall.
I didn t put a door at all and only small amount of water drops splash out.
Material on the wall such as backerboard and tile can reduce the wall to wall width by as much as 1 inch on each side.
