Holding drywall s outer edges nail every 12 on outer edges and every 16 over studs in field of the panel. To install ceiling drywall start by applying adhesive to the joists where the first sheet of drywall will go. Fasten center of field with nails every 16 over studs. After the drywall sheets are up nail or screw.

Standard panels come in 4 foot widths and 8 10 and 12 foot lengths. Apply a continuous bead of adhesive across the top plate. Apply a 1 4 adhesive bead to rafters. Next raise the drywall up with the help of a friend or drywall lift.

The third is purely to stiffen walls framed on the flat. The more the drywall can be made to act like an integrated part of the framing the stiffer the wall is. A glue screwed wall also has greater racking strength and sound deadening ability than a screw only installation. Then from the top down apply a bead to each stud stopping at your marked line.
