The liquid nails 10 oz.
Glue instead of nail wall paneling.
Recommended for the interior bonding paneling wainscoting corkboard mdf board as well as wood foam and plastic molding.
The rows of adhesive should be about 8 to 12.
If you can find or paint screws to match the finish of the wood do a discrete line of screws along the top of each piece.
For example if you are working with tongue and groove paneling that aligns with the studs in your wall you can nail each panel into the wall right above the tongue.
If you want it to be easily removable use nails.
Repeat until walls are covered.
Remove panel from wall for one minute.
Position and press the panel into place.
Apply a thin bead of construction adhesive along the back length of the baseboard and press it against the wall so the bottom edge is flush with the floor.
If you d rather nail the panels to your wall after you ve arranged and numbered them skip to step 7.
The final step is to glue then nail moulding into place with finishing nails and cover with wood putty for a perfect finish.
Drive the nails in at a slight angle to avoid splitting off the panel s tongue.
Press panel firmly into place.
Spread the adhesive across the back of the panel by squeezing the trigger on the gun.
You can also put up drywall or paneling with glue eliminating the need to fill nail holes and ensuring you never need to worry about nail pops.
Also wood paneling has a tendency to slide and warp when you just use nails.
Glues can bond building materials firring strips or insulation directly to brick or concrete walls.
Paneling and molding construction adhesive has a strong waterproof and impact resistant bond and a stain free guarantee that will help keep your project mess free.
If you want to piss off the person who rips it down use glue.
Using adhesive provides insurance that paneling won t buckle over time if nails should begin to pop as a result of expansion and contraction of the panels or settling of the foundation.
Create a long bead in a zigzag pattern so there is even coverage.
Apply 1 4 bead of adhesive approximately 1 from edge of panel around the perimeter.
Tap in place with a rubber mallet.
Panel adhesive is available in tubs and tubes and can be applied with a notched trowel or a caulking gun.
You just replace the screws nails with heady duty glue applied with a caulk gun.
